In my future career i think that i will face very challenging decisions like the way i look at a job interview, or the way i actually do my job, i will be judged and thats ok. It is very important to remain true to your self while doing job if you loose all sight of what is important to you then you will lose yourself also. Happiness is so important when picking a career because you have to go to work every day and if you despise your job, you will never be happy. you would just have to do your best in terms of your job and if someone else does not like the may you do your job you should egnore them because they do not matter in your career and in your world.

Ethics & Morals

In between Holden and Igby I think that Igby is true to himself because his does not go around new york calling people phonies, where as Holden is always calling people phonies and swearing all the time. Holden has no respect for anyone or anything except his younger sister Phoebe and her friends. Igby has respect for Rachel and Sookie because they were always respectful of him except when Rachel beat him up because he walked in when DH and Rachel were together. Holden does not live his life according to his own morals because he calls lots of people phonies but in my belief he his a phony himself because he does not stay true to what he says about him self and what he stands for. Igby felt bad after they killed their mother because she "has been there for him all of these years".If you think about Igby's home situation, it probably makes sense that he is the was he is now because his mother was a drug addict and his "father" was mentally ill and Igby was just waiting for his mental breakdown when really he had no chance in having one all along because DH was Igbys real father. Holden's home situation was OK other than his younger brother dying and his mother being mad because of that for the rest of her life and his brother DB lived in Hollywood, but other than that Holden's life at home was perfectly fine. Igby is the one that is true to himself and his morals. Holden was just screwed up from the beginning.

I personally do not have any issues like that a lot but when I do I just get in my car and go for a drive, sometimes I go to visit my Grandma's grave or visit with family or simply just drive. when I feel like this it is usually because I have a fight with a member of my family or I am just sick of all the people being stupid and telling me what to do, I don't take criticism very well. Why I want to leave that is my business and the whole world does not need to know.

What does it mean to be a phony, according to Holden? Is Holden himself guilty of being a phony? Explain

To be a phony means to be not true to your self and everything you stand for. According to Holden to be a phony means to act stupid and to not act the way Holden thinks they should. Holden calls alot of people phonies, but he never says it to their face. I think that Holden will never call people phonies to their face because he is scared that he will get hurt if he tells them. I think that Holden is the biggest phony of all the people he has called phonies because he does not stay true to anything that he says or does. He tells everyone that he has had sex with many girls, but as we find out later he actually has never had sex with any girl. Holden is a compulsive liar and I don't buy any of it.

What does it mean to be a pushover and what does it mean to be kind?

To be a pushover means that you give in to anything that other people ask from you, even if that means you change everything that you believe in. change your entire image to become some else or to be with other people that would not have accepted you when you were actually as your true self. To be a kind person means that you care about other people other than just yourself. When you are a kind person other people think very highly of you because everyone appreciates a smile for a good person every now and then. If you are a good person most people will want to be friends with you. Also it is just easier to be nice than cause a bunch of uneeded drama from my own experinces.

What does it mean to be a good person?

For me to be a good person means everything because you can't make very many friends if you are always mean to everyone. In my personal life experinces, it is so much easier to to nice to people you don't like than to be rude or start a fight for no good reason just because you don't that perosn. life moves on and you may not ever see those people again in your whole life, but when you get older and look back at you life do you want to remember those people as your self always fighting with them. In the book Catcher in the Rye Holden is never really happy, he calls everyone "phonies" but mean while he should be calling himself that becuase he dosent know who he is on the inside. Holden has no real friends becuase he never really gets to know people for who they are. Holden just judges them before he even gets to know them and in my opinion that is not right. For me personally Holden is the biggest "phony" tn the book.
